Quarter of Institutions for Mentally Retarded Give Poor Service


A report by the inspection of health care states that a quarter of the residential facilities for the mentally handicapped provide insufficient care. They are understaffed and that staff is not sufficiently professional. There are about 100,000 people in such institutions. Inspector-General Gerrit van der Wal says that complaints of parents about the institutions are usually justified.
